Elsevier and the Austrian Academic Library Consortium (KEMÖ) have concluded a Read and Publish agreement for the period from January 2024 to December 2026, enabling corresponding authors affiliated with the institutions listed below to publish Open Access in Elsevier’s gold and hybrid journals at no additional charge.

What journals are covered by this agreement?
Members of all participating institutions can publish open access in the following journals: Elsevier Hybrid + Gold Eligible Journals (.XLSX) / (.PDF).

Authors affiliated with a participating member institution in the role of 'submitting corresponding author' of the article. Elsevier identifies eligible authors by means of their affiliation indicated by authors.
Which article types are eligible?
Elsevier Hybrid and Elsevier Cell Press Hybrid Journals: All article types are eligible, no restrictions
Gold OA Journals incl. Cell Press Gold OA and The Lancet Gold OA Journals: full-length articles (FLA) and review articles (REV)
What license options are available?
Authors may choose between the license options CC BY and CC BY-NC-ND.
When do authors have to be affiliated with a participating member institution to be eligible for funding?
Authors must be affiliated with a participating member institution on the acceptance date.
What costs are covered by the agreement?
Article Processing Charges (APCs) and Editorial Processing Charges (EPCs) are covered by the agreement.
