Springer and the Austrian Academic Library Consortium (KEMÖ) have renewed the SpringerCompact agreement for the period from January 2024 to December 2026. SpringerCompact combines access to the content of SpringerLink with the possibility to publish Open Access. The consortium members have access to over 2,000 Springer journals and can publish Open Access in more than 2,000 subscription journals without additional publication fees.

Who is eligible?
Authors affiliated with a participating member institution in the role of 'corresponding author' of the article. Springer identifies eligible authors at least through one of the following parameters: institutional email address, affiliation, and institutional IP range.
Which article types are eligible?
Original papers, review papers, brief communications, and continuing educations are eligible.
What license options are available?
Authors may choose between CC BY 4.0 and CC BY-NC 4.0.
When do authors have to be affiliated with a participating member institution to be eligible for funding?
Authors must be affiliated with a participating member institution on the acceptance date.
What costs are covered by the agreement?
Article Processing Charges (APCs) are fully covered by the agreement.
